I would like to know how create a layer loop ?

I have one Layer with 5 movies and i would like to play them in a infinite loop mode. How can i do that ?

I've been experimenting using screen capture as a playback source.

The problem is when I open the preview grid window. If I add screen capture then double click to select the capture source, the spinning wheel appears and then machine completely locks up.

I'm using beta version 2.31.d on a MacBook Pro 15" 2014

Anyone else seeing a hiccup of varying intensity when playing back a simple loop in Dashboard Mode? I also see it when playing in the timeline as a new segment and as a two videos sequenced together. I've been seeing this for awhile now in Millumin 2, but not in Millumin 1 and finally got around to testing it thoroughly. I have a simple video of a white bar rotating on black - 10 seconds long 1920x1080 - HAP and the hiccup on the loop is always present but sometimes more pronounced. Checked the loop is good in After Effects, Quicktime, and Scratch Play. This is running on a 2016 MacBook Pro Quad Core i7 with Sierra 10.12.6 specs below:

Processor Speed: 2.7 GHz

Number of Processors: 1

Total Number of Cores: 4

Memory: 16 GB

Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB

Files are on the local SSD flash drive which also has plenty of space. Restart/Shutdown with nothing else running does not change the behavior. This machine shouldn't be particularly taxed by a single layer of HD video and shouldn’t be experiencing a performance issue, so possibly there’s a bug related to looping playback?

eGPU discussions and forums (egpu.io) are showing success stories about enhancing Apple Mac graphic performance. Some promising results and direction with High Sierra OSX. After much research I'm still in the dark as to what graphic card will provide support for multiple projectors in a configuration to say the Matrox tripplehead2go. Most forums are reporting good performance for gaming, enhanced FPS etc. I read that Millumin have been reviewing the Apple eGPU developers kit, any update on that and configuration would be much appreciated. With the advent of 4K upon us and Lumix GH5 camera that can record hi quality 4k media , Im looking for recommendations on a graphic card that

A - supports Millumin projector setups

B - Has support in terms of drivers (nvidia pascal is in Beta for MAC) AMD RX580 seems to have native Apple support

C - Post production Video editing... (some have issues with Final Cut X )

With both Nvidia or AMD i still have not found a configuration setup guide of what is do able on a MAC PRO and then there are Nvidia Quadro's to add to the confusion :-)

I have a single video on a track. I have a midi input in the form of a button to be pushed down. (Arduino)

I want to affect the clip speed when the button is press.

Is this possible?

Hi everybody ! happy new year

I am wondering if someone can help me with a problem i have.

I need to control parameters of a a projector ( Christie roadster s+20K ) via millumin.

What i do for now is using string command via rj45.

In the interaction panel i put the IP of my projector and the port.

In the dashboard a data track in string mode and in the command i put (SHUO)

Nothing happened when i use the test button

Then i tried to put (SHU[INT_VALUE]) and in the current value line put 1 or 0 ( open or close position of the shutter )

I think i have a bad understanding of something but i dont know if it come from millumin or of the control of the Christie.

Maybe string command is not the answer and there is other way to communicate to the projector via millumin.

I thought the Christie can understand Artnet...

eGPU Testing

My current setup:

2018 MacBook Pro 2.9 GHz i9 with 32GB Ram / Mojave 10.14

Razer Core X with AMD Sapphire RX580 8GB Card

"Prefer External GPU" is checked (New Feature in Mojave).The GUI is running on a 1080p monitor connected to the eGPU. Two Outputs going into an E2. First output is DisplayPort 3840x1200@60 and the second output is 1920x1080@60 via HDMI.

Question:

Looping two 10 second ProRes 422 videos and about every 30 seconds, the frames per second drop from 60 fps to around 35 fps then back to 60 fps. Would anyone know what would be causing this? It';s pretty consistently happening almost every 30 seconds.

I was thinking about the new cinema plugin for millumin and how i may use it in production. I already use syphon to output my cinema project into millumin then render a uvw for each projector, then use ft-uv pass in AE to map my animated uv to each projector, producing a rendered video for each projector. It would be amazing if you could load a uvw pass into a layer and millumin would map the video to this like what ft-uv pass does. You could then produce just one render for playback. Is this remotley possible to implement or am i siplifying the process required.

Hello everyone.

With the latest releases of Millumin 2 it occourred randomly that a project has not been saved properly.

Even if the save command did not reported any error, re-opening the project presented properties and files of the pre-save version.

I can not tell how to replicate this. I noticed it while I was preparing a project to live to an operator and collecting resources to give a closed project, finding with surprise old media loaded instead of newly changed or dashboard programming not updated.

Did anyone registred this beheaviour?

Kinect for Windows V2

I have plugged in a Kinect for Windows V2 with the USB 3.0 hub but it is not recognized at all by Millumin3 beta. Should this work or is this Kinect completely different from the Kinect for Xbox One?

Can someone help me and try to explain a little bit the process to map 2 VP with edge blending in retro on a incurved cyclo please ?

Send OSC commands from Millumin -> ETC Element

I've set up Millumin on my Mac to send OSC commands to my ETC element, but it is very inconsistent.

Problem:

When I first turn the computer and the board on I can launch a video that I've set up to send commands and it does send them, but then when I go to launch the same video later it does not work.

It seems pretty random when the commands work and do not. One minute the command will send and be recieved by the board, but then the next minute it won't.

Not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Hi,

Now I try to the multidisplay in Millumin.

I create 4k resolution screen (3840x2160) on a display. And I use the AJA HA5-4K to separate 4 displays with MAC PRO ver., 10.9.

But it doesn't well, like the positioning of display do not fit to the 4 screens.

Does AJA's scaling not well ? Or because of the setting onto Millumin ?

I tried to find a similar thread in here without success. So I create a new one. Everything about interactions with "clickable" buttons works fine with me. But I would like to map also the commands for "launch next column" and "launch previous column". It work fine with the keyboard commands but how to get interactions on these ones?
