Arduino / Auto-program issue [solved]

Hi, 
I can get the "auto-program" to work:

- In millumin, I've setup My arduino Uno, serial is ok/green, active is ticked.
- a servomotor is plugged on D8 (if I upload a simple servomotor program to the arduino, the servomotor is spinning ok, so no problem on this side)
- I hit "auto-program" : key "D8", Type "Servo", if I hit "test" the RX LED is flashing but the servomotor doesn't move.

I click Upload "Installing PlatformIO" windows appears. Then Terminal, password... everything seems ok.
but if I click Upload again, the "Installing PlatformIO" windows appears again. It's a loop !?

If I hit test, my servomotor doesn't spin (but RX LED is flashing).
If I create data keyframe my servomotor doesn't spin (but RX LED is flashing).

I've updated Xcode to the last version (it was 7.2 when I've tried to Install PlatformIO the first time)
So, I don't know what else to do.

Touch OSC

Hi,
I have a (I think) basic question.

I've connected my phone's touchosc to Milumin ( I see the changes in Millumin monitor)
but it doesn't do anything,
I really can't figure out how to deal with OSC track, 

I've created the data rack layer,
and entered all the ips, but don't know how to make the osc messaging working...

and there are no tutorials for the beginners...
If anyone can help me with the step by step screenshot or tutorial it would be so appreciated.

Audio Adjustments - MILLUMIN 2 (SOLVED)

Hi there,

Just wondering if there is the facility to manage AUDIO LEVELS for layers within MILLUMIN 2 ?

I don't seem to have the "AUDIO" drop down menu that was in MILLUMIN 1 or is it hidden somewhere else within the app ?

The reason or my question is that I am running an install at an art gallery where they have Media playing via millumin, but now also want to have a Spotify playlist playing through the gallery PA off the same machine.

I was therefore planning to MUTE all the output of video layers from MILLUMIN 2 so as to avoid any doubling of audio should there be a case where their media content has audio on it too.

Any help gladly appreciated

Dashboard media stay play after next column

Hello, Sorry for my English , 

For my project, I need to have each column play assign too my makey makey. I would like that each media stay play in my outpout. I no want to my media stop when i click on the next column. I would like that my media stay on and not off. 

Sorry, I imagine that this function is simple.

slide show: pictures jump

I am having a small problem using the slide show. Pictures with slightly different sizes are nicely blending when not mapped to any surface, however, they jump up at the end when being rendered to the surface dimensions.

BTW is there any option NOT to stretch any content to a given surface but keep the original aspect ratio?

Clip freeze at start

Hello,

For the story: For a theater company, I am moving a show from QLab/MadMapper to Millumin Demo, to see which one we'll use for next shows.

My problem is: when I launch a clip it freeze around 0.5 seconds on the first frame then the clip runs normally. I've tested several file size, from 100MB to 2GB, and with optimized or not videos but the problem is still there. 

Any idea about this problem?

Multiple PJLink shutter control

Hello,

I wanted to know if there was a way to individually control the shutters of several PJLink projectors in Millumin?

It works very well for a single video projector with a "String Track" and the command "%1AVMT [INT_VALUE][RETURN]" with the values 30 and 31 for open and closed.
But as in the "manage device" i can enter the IP address of only one video projector I do not understand how to manage a second String Track that would control the shutter of a second projector.

I know it is also possible to use "Projector midi remote" with MIDI Track to achieve this result but I wondered if Millumin could do without it.

Hi,

I have  a mobile device here with TouchOSC where I can select columns for display on Macbook A.

What is the recommended setup for Macbook B that should display different columns?
B is located in the same network having also Millumin 2 installed.

OSC Splitter on A?

Some Millumin Plugin? 

Or just an OSC Datatrack on A that directs B?

i have a long strip of content (6784x256) i want to make fit into a single 1920x1080 raster,  i want to divide it into 4 pieces, the first 3 1920 wide and the last 1024 wide, so i can stack them ontop of each other to fit into one led processor.  i can only see how to make slices evenly, can i define the slice area

on a seperate note, can i change the position so it works 0,0 from the top left?

Hello there,


I'm actually setting up a multi-screen retro-projection with 2 VP for a dance show (premiere is 3 weeks from now).

I'm using the macBook Pro 15" / Touch Bar / 2017 / 4 USB-C connections / 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7 / Intel HD Graphics 630 & Radeon Pro 560

Here is the line :

Macbook Pro > apple adapter USB-C/HDMI > HMDI cable > Black Magic converter HDMI/SDI > BNC cable > Black Magic converter SDI/HDMI > HDMI cable > VP

everything is x2 except the laptop.

Here is my problem : the first time I set this up, it was very stable. The second time, one of the two VP was unstable, image went black with VP mention 'no signal' and then came back. Yesterday, try it again, it was worst. Both of the VP went black, at least twice in 1 minute.

So I went behind the scree, and tried the macbook connected to the 2 VP only with hdmi cable and adapter, it was very stable. So I guess the problem is with black magic micro-converter or BNC-cables...

But this morning, a friend lend me a Mac Pro (2014), so connectors are now mini-display > hdmi and it instantly worked and was very stable.

Anyone could help me understand where is the problem with my first set up ?

For now I could keep the Mac Pro but not for the tour of the show, so I really would like to find how to run my original set up...

GPIO Module Interfaces

Hi

I've had a speculative enquiry from a client and I think Millumin could be the right tool for the job, but I'm not over familiar with all of Millumins functions and command protocols that are supported.


So I would like to be able to trigger a video from a physical button push that would be remote from the control machine.
There would be around 4 different buttons, corresponding to 4 different video sequences.

I have been looking at an 8 channel usb GPIO Module:
and using physical contact closures.

Would Millumin be able to interpret the incoming USB commands?

Canvas problem

Hello, first sorry for my English.

Here, I have a problem theses days that never happened before :
I have three canvas for one VP and I customize them compared to the stage.

My problem is that sometimes, and not everytime, I have to make them again when I re-launch millumin because the software change their form inexplicably. 

Have you seen this problem sometimes?

Of course I save my file after adapting my three canvas...

It seems it's a problem from adapting video size with the VP but I can't see a problem in this last one, its properties don't change....

Control a projector with serial String Track

Hi everybody ! happy new year

I am wondering if someone can help me with a problem i have.
I need to control parameters of a a projector ( Christie roadster s+20K ) via millumin.
What i do for now is using string command via rj45.
In the interaction panel i put the IP of my projector and the port.
In the dashboard a data track in string mode and in the command i put (SHUO)

Nothing happened when i use the test button

Then i tried to put (SHU[INT_VALUE]) and in the current value line put 1 or 0 ( open or close position of the shutter )

I think i have a bad understanding of something but i dont know if it come from millumin or of the control of the Christie.
Maybe string command is not the answer and there is other way to communicate to the projector via millumin.
I thought the Christie can understand Artnet...

Problem with ENTTEC DMXUSBPRO

Hello every one...
I can't connect my enttec dmxusbpro to millumin since i made updates (Millumin 2.18.k and sierra 10.12.6). I install Pro manager who recognise my device and i install the device firmware 2.4 on my enttec. It was not working, same result so i install FTDI drivers : same result. In the device manager Menu in Millumin, i can see my usb pro dmx but can't connect.
I read that it could be a problem with the driver ?
Maybe its my mac who dont recognise DMXusbpro, how could be sure to my computer is in good connection with enttec ?
I have two shows which is running with Enttec and Millumin ! So please, emergency help me...
